“We are not outnumbered, we are out-organized.”

Time and time again, the workers of the world have organized themselves into vast masses capable of swaying the great economic and political landscape using only their sheer numbers combined in unison. Although victories have been many, the ruling class often finds ways in which to counterattack, crushing our organizations and disrupting those lines of communication between its members. From the rubble the workers crawl out; we dust ourselves off and we set back to it. We find one another, we make connections. We learn who the friendly faces are out there in that often bleak concrete hellscape, and we learn not to take one another for granted. Every failure is an opportunity for learning, and we grow from those opportunities. Time and time again we begin to organize ourselves by casting aside the divisions that had been brought between us. We begin to communicate again, and we start to see their struggles are not all that different from our own. Through working together, we find common solutions to our common problems and our lives begin to improve. The lives of all those around us begin to improve, so long as we are all willing to work together, to keep an eye out for one another. And all of this is only possible through efficient modes of communication. Clear channels send clear messages, clear messages solidify what it means to communicate efficiently. They enrich our networks so that this mindset of “working together” covers more ground; we can be sure that the needs of the people are being met where they are needing to be met. We can all sleep a little easier. Instead of relying on “someone else” to come and save us from our struggle, we now begin relying on “each other,” instead. If I may digress, I truly believe that if we had a more mutual world with one another that even the bitterest of neighbors might come to appreciate one another; that which once formerly divided them begins to dissipate—it is no longer relevant to the discussion. Effective communication leads to stronger organization. The strongest organization requires the utmost efficient means of communication. How can the people lead the charge in having their demands met if we cannot mobilize the masses at the drop of a hat? We must begin to use all the tools at our disposal to begin developing this communication with one another. We need to begin putting out our placards and banners and announcing to each other, “We are here!” We need an organization that can bring all of us together to fight for that better world and a brighter tomorrow. This organization must have its roles and duties explicitly outlined, and those who hold those executive positions should ultimately hold to their hearts the broader mission of the organization: victory for the people. We must acknowledge our will for change is nothing short of revolutionary. This is a task that must be handled respectfully, acknowledging all those who have come before us in this struggle and all those who will come after us whose task it will be to pick it up again. “We are not outnumbered. We are out-organized.” We can change this world to anything we want it to be and the secret is through finding these ways in which we can work together. There are more of us then there are of them. Organize!
